About the tour

Bridgewalking is a unique experience 60 meters up in the bridge structure of the Old Little Belt Bridge. From the top of the bridge, there is an incredible view of the Little Belt, Jutland and Funen. Bridgewalking takes about 2 hours – including safety instruction and changing clothes.

The earliest tour is always at 10.00. We have to be down from the bridge before the sun goes down, and therefore the time of the last trip varies throughout the year. We regularly post tours for which you can buy a ticket, and also offer tours in English and German.

Participants are not allowed to bring objects on the bridge (mobile, camera, etc. – all pockets must be emptied). If you have shown your ticket on your phone, your phone can be placed in a locked safety box while you are on the bridge. You can also put car keys and other valuables in the safety box.

The Welcome Centre

The welcome center is located at Galsklintvej 2, 5500 Middelfart.

If you have a ticket, you continue past the Welcome Center and further up the path to a black building, where you will be greeted by your guide. You will be given a one-piece suit that you must wear over your own clothes. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes that are appropriate for the season. Wear sensible footwear that is attached to the foot – preferably with a rubber sole.

After safety instruction, you walk together to the Old Little Belt Bridge, where you will be connected to a safety system – and then it goes up! Up to 60 meters high and out on the trip over the bridge. Along the way, the guide will tell you about the bridge’s architecture, the history, the construction and the nature around the Little Belt.

You must be in reasonably good physical shape, as it is a walk of about 2.5 kilometers, and there are a number of steps along the way up to the bridge structure itself.

Tickets

You can buy a ticket online or in our Welcome Center. We recommend that you buy online to make sure that there is room on the tour you want.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions.

Before you go on the bridge

Your guide will give you thorough safety instruction and provide you with a one-piece suit to wear over your own clothes when you go up the bridge. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes that are appropriate for the season. It is also a good idea to wear sensible, tight-fitting footwear – preferably with rubber soles.

The trip across the bridge

A guided tour of the bridge is a walk of approx. 2.5 km. There are stairs up to the walkway that leads to the bridge and a double staircase that leads up to the bridge itself. In addition, there are 4 smaller ladders that you have to go up and down when crossing the two cross bridges. The rest of the tour you walk on the original old walkways. There are railings and you are secured with a safety line at all times. Several times along the way, stops are made where you have the opportunity to rest and enjoy the view.

You can see a more detailed description and pictures of the different stairs and steps here

When you are connected to the safety rail, it goes up. Up to 60 meters above the water and 20 meters above the railway tracks and the roadways below you.

Enjoy the beautiful view of Funen, Jutland and the Little Belt

After your ride on the bridge

Stop by the Welcome Centre before you head home. There is free admission to a small exhibition about the bridge construction, and you can buy merchandise, a cold water or a cup of coffee.
